Copy And Saving Existing Calculators

Probably pretty basic, however, how do I copy an existing calculator to use as a template?

Also, how do I save off line my new calculator?

Thanks,

Bryan

Very simple: you download, rename, edit, upload:

#1: Download calc you want to use as template
#2: Go into calc and tap Edit
#3: Tap on name and change to whatever name you want
#3: Mod to your heart's delight
#4: Scroll to the bottom of the definition, tap Sharing and then Upload

Done. (Note, there's no upload confirmation. It just takes a second and it's done. If an error occurs (for example, you don't have a network connection), you'll get an error dialog.)

In the steps above, you don't have to rename. When you upload, you upload into your own personal area. That is, you're not overriding the shared calc you used as base. Whenever you download, you'll download your copy, not the common/shared version.

If you didn't rename and want to go back to the common/shared version, delete your local calc of the same name. (Swipe left on it in Calculators.) Now re-download from Downloadables.

Hint: if you uploaded a calc of your own and you accidentally deleted it, not all is lost. Just create a new calc of the exact same name and then go to Sharing and tap Download. That will repopulate your calc's definition from your last save.

Thanks. At this point I will just try to work with the ND1 server.
Something isn't working quite right. Here is what I tried:
1) Deleted and downloaded new ND1 app.
2) Selected Classic XL
3) Edited and renamed to 42s++
4) Sharing/Uploaded (no options selected or Custom URL provided)
5) ND1server confirmed 'upload' by time/date stamp.
6) Attempted Sharing/Download.
7) Error Message returned indicating: "Data Not Available on Server".

Shouldn't this work or did I miss something?

Thanks

Per your email to me, the problem with upload/download to the ND1 server was the '++' in 42s++.
Saving a Calculator as '42s' worked perfectly!

To save locally, I did the following:

- I followed the instructions for the "Custom Server SetUp" under ND1 Reference Section: http://naivedesign.com/ND1/Custom_Server_Setup.html
- Under OSx 10.11, apache2 is no longer turned on by default. In order to do so, I followed this guide to allow for local sharing (I followed the instructions till the SQL installation): https://coolestguidesontheplanet.com/ge ... l-capitan/
- I was getting errors until I fixed permissions: sudo chmod -R a+w ~/Sites/uploads

Thanks for this note. It may be helpful to others.

Yes, this documentation has fallen out of sync. (It should be in a wiki, I guess, so that it can evolve better.)
