Road-map

Postby oliver » Sun Apr 03, 2011 2:22 am

Here's a rough outline of where we intent to take ND1 this year:

1.4:
+ Allow to move the stack baseline; touch UI for same
+ Morphing of calc UI with support for a variety of input elements (sliders, fields, chooser, etc.)
+ UI builder for same
+ Programmatic UI selection and definition; INFORM
+ RPL+ (see http://forums.naivedesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=56)

1.5:
+ Two- and three-dimensional graphing: { 'sin(x)' 'cos(x)' 'x^2' };
+ Parametric and complex ('e^(i*x)') function plots
+ Chooser UI for selection of equations in folder to graph
+ New "Calculators" sections with examples and Downloadables
+ Ability to upload and share own calculators

2.0:
+ ND2: CAS
+ ND0, ND1: in-app upgrade to ND2
+ Radical Graphing (many types, incl. 3-D)
+ WebGL, GLSL shaders, accelerated 3-D graphing
+ RPL to JS morphing
+ Platforms: iOS, Android, Kindle, Mac, Win

Ongoing:
+ HP 50g command compatibility improvements

There'll be maintenance updates inbetween these releases. Also, there're side-projects like adding GolfScript as a 3rd language, and implementing RPL+. (Both of which are discussed at http://forums.naivedesign.com/viewforum.php?f=9.)

Hi Oliver,

I'd be interested in the Android path. Being a long term HP user (45, 97, 41c, 42S, 48SX/GX and 50G and Emu48, Droid48 and Free42 on various platforms) I have some knowledge on using RPN/RPL sytems. If you are working on an Android port, I'd appreciate to give it some testing. Equipment here are a Samsung Galaxy I9000 with "Gingerbread" 2.3.3 and an Acer Iconia with "Honeycomb" 3.1

Hallo Günter,

Thank you for your offer to beta-test on Android.

Even though it looks like the Android version will happen before 2.0, I don't have a testable version yet. It sounds like you're more than qualified to make a good tester, and I will get in touch with you when the time comes. Thank you!
