Iphone 5

Postby Omid » Fri Sep 28, 2012 9:44 am

Hi, I am new to Iphone platform. I looked through the app store looking for a good programmable RPN calculator. I found ND1 to be very capable and useful for my needs. I do wish, however, that the keys were bigger so that I would have less errors using it. Do you have any plans to take advantage of the Iphone 5's bigger size?

Thanks

Hi Omid,

Yes, indeed, the full screen of the iPhone 5 will be supported with the next update. (Which has been delayed due to the iPhone 5 changes.)
Not sure if you noticed, but you can expand the calculator by tapping the ND1 tab when it's already selected. This gives you somewhat bigger keys.

I'll post a screenshot here, showing the app on an iPhone 5 screen shortly.

Thanks for the screen shots. I was wondering if it is possible to allow the user to sacrifice display size in order to have larger keys. It would be nice to have larger keys when a one line display is enough.

Thanks

Hi Omid,

I see. There's not going to be a provision to have a one line display and that would somewhat counter how this calculator is typically used.
It's not very visible in these screenshots, but the buttons in the second screenshot are much bigger than what they're now. I hope you'll find them big enough. Let me know, after the update. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Oliver. Do you have an estimate of when the new update will be ready?

Thanks,
Omid

I'm doing all I can to get it out this month. It's been an unusually long time between updates but a lot got done.
